Every summer, Huntsville hosts an entire week dedicated to those who serve, and have served, in the Armed Forces. On 24 June, as part of Armed Forces Week, my children and I had the privilege of attending the Army Soldier Show, a Broadway-style variety performance featuring phenomenally talented cast that consists solely of members who currently serve in the Armed Forces.
Command Sergeant Major Jeffrey Hartless exclaimed, “This year’s production, ‘WE SERVE’ explores the foundational elements of what it means to serve, in and out of uniform, as well as how our country in return serves them. It is the ‘Soldier for Life’ aspect that instills the strength and character of our Soldiers and our Army, which are exemplified in our core values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.”
We continue to thank the men and women who place their lives on the line to protect our freedoms– a luxury we are blessed with that we cannot take for granted. This Independence Day weekend, please pray our Lord continues to watch over our troops and our nation.
